Vitex (Chaste berries)

Vitex or "chaste tree" is a popular shrub used in landscaping to prevent mosquitoes. However it gets its name "chaste" from a more medicinal use. The shrub produces an abundance of seeds, called "chaste berries," which are consumed as a tea. Studies have shown that the chaste tree has benefits in regulating estrogen and progesterone which may help in reducing premenstrual and menopausal symptoms, enhancing fertility.*
